Though remote control can brings much convenience to the work of network administrators, it also provides a new illegal intrusion "channel" for those illegal attackers.
In order to improve the safety performance of the server system, the new function of Win2008 system, Network Authentication, can prevent illegal attackers establishing a remote connection from a computer in local area network (LAN) to a target server. There is no doubt that it will greatly improve the operation safety in Windows 2008 Server system.
First of all, we log in Windows 2008 desktop with privilege account, click "server manager" in task bar and open the server manager console window, then we select "server management" on the left, after that, we choose "configure remote desktop" under the directory of "server digest", and then the remote desktop settings dialog box appears.
Secondly, move your mouse to " remote desktop" and check whether "only allow remote desktop connection for computers with network authentication " is selected or not, if not, please select it, and then click" OK " to save our settings.
To put it briefly, if your system is Vista, you may need to worry about upgrading of antivirus software and when you forgot Windows Vista password. However, if it’s Windows Server 2008, do pay attention to the safety of your remote connections please.
